Williams & Connolly is representing one of its associates in a suit that claims he is unable to work as a lawyer because he was injured by a falling metal pole at a subway station.

The associate, Kevin LoVecchio, says he was injured in August 2015 at a subway station maintained by the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority, report the National Law Journal (sub. req.) and Bloomberg Big Law Business. The suit (PDF) was filed Dec. 1 in Washington, D.C., federal court.

The metal pole that injured LoVecchio is used to close the station entrance. The suit says the compartment where the pole is kept was not closed and locked. Though LoVecchio is disabled, he is still employed by Williams & Connolly, his lawyer told the National Law Journal.

LoVecchio is a Harvard law graduate who once assisted law professor Elizabeth Warren, who is now a U.S. senator.
