Philadelphia-based Blank Rome has opened a new office in Los Angeles today that is the first step towards a bigger footprint both on the West Coast and in Asia.

Five lateral partners from four different firms are launching the LA office, which has space for 20 attorneys, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The new office will add further depth to the firm’s existing corporate, commercial litigation, environmental, real estate and employment departments, and greatly expand Blank Rome’s entertainment law and new media practice, the firm states in a press release today. The five initial partners are Lawrence Hinkle, Andrew Kim, Warren Koshofer, Glen Rothstein and William Small; their practice areas are detailed in the release.

“California is one of the most dynamic markets in the country. Our Los Angeles office will provide the initial launch for our West Coast growth strategy, as well as natural synergy with our growing office in Hong Kong, as we continue to build our national and international platform,” states Carl Buchholz, Blank Rome’s managing partner and chief executive, in the release.
