A physician accused of malpractice agreed to a substantial settlement after he admitted on the stand that he was the pseudonymous blogger writing about a trial with striking similarities to his own.

Pediatrician Robert P. Lindeman admitted he was blogger “Lindeman Flea,” who revealed defense strategy and criticized opposing counsel for biting her fingernails, giving her the name “Carissa Lunt,” the Boston Globe reports.

Lindeman was accused of failing to diagnose diabetes in a child who died of complications from the disease. The trial was taking place in a Boston courtroom last month.

Lawyers following the case say it has prompted them to warn clients about blogging. A hat tip to How Appealing, which posted the article.
