A Baltimore woman whose lawyer says she was “blown off” the toilet one day in November 2014 due to work that was being done on backed-up sewer lines is suing for damages.

Angela Wright says she suffered physical injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder from the incident, which left both her and her bathroom “covered in filth and excretion,” according to Courthouse News and WBFF. She is seeking damages for those injuries and $14,000 in repairs allegedly required for her bathroom.

“She was blown off that toilet that day,” her lawyer, Louis Glick, told the WBFF, adding: “She had to clean it up herself. Can you imagine doing that?”

It isn’t clear from news coverage whether the toilet itself actually exploded, according to the suit, or a stream of sewage came spewing out of the commode due to high-pressure hoses being used by city contractors. The contractors are named as defendants, along with city officials, but none could immediately be reached Thursday afternoon by WBFF.

“I would probably seek $250,000 if we go in front of a jury to compensate her properly for the enormous blows to her psyche and physical self,” Glick told the station.

Courthouse News apparently didn’t try to contact the defendants in the Baltimore City Circuit Court suit, which was filed Feb. 19.
