Boies, Schiller & Flexner is planning to open a London office, which will be its first outside the United States, in the near future.

The 258-lawyer, New York-based litigation powerhouse currently represents banking giant Barclays, among other London-based clients, and has confirmed that it plans to open a London office, the Am Law Daily reports.

Legal Week (sub. req.) earlier reported that the law firm had approached various London litigators about working at its planned U.K. office. Boies Schiller only rarely brings in lateral partners, but apparently is at least considering doing so in London.

“Boies Schiller has been actively considering the London market for some time, and the firm hopes to establish a presence in London in the near future,” partner Duane Loft, who works in New York, told Legal Week. “We are currently working in London on behalf of our clients.”
