Once again, litigation boutique Boies, Schiller & Flexner is paying top bonuses to associate attorneys.

Many senior associates will get $125,000 to $150,000 in end-of-year payments reflecting their work and the firm’s success, and two will receive top bonuses of $350,000 each, the New York Times’ DealBook blog reports.

David Boies, who co-founded the firm, told the newspaper the $350,000 payments reflect an extraordinary amount of work or the success achieved in the litigation on which the lawyers worked. He said overall bonus payments were up this year because there was more work for associates to do.

“I hope the bonuses get back to where they were in 2013,” he told the Times, “because I think that reflected a more sustainable lifestyle.”

Last year, Boies paid bonuses of $85,000 on average, topping out at $300,000.

Bonuses are up this year as well at other major corporate law firms based in New York, but the standard schedule ranges from $15,000 to $100,000.
