Adding to an ever-lengthening list of law firm layoffs, Boston-based Foley Hoag has announced that it is giving pink slips to about 32 associates and staff members.
“Although Foley Hoag had strong financial results in 2008, we have concluded that a reduction in personnel is a prudent step to ensure the continued strength of the firm in these unprecedented economic conditions,” says managing partner Robby Sanoff in a written statement provided to the Boston Business Journal.
The layoffs amount to about 6 percent of the workforce at the firm, which now has about 240 attorneys.

Looks like a series of Boston firms have been taking such action recently. Maybe our friend Boston IP has now managed to get rid of those younger “associates” who annoy him so by complaining when they have to work late.
