It isn't just the biggest and best-known law partnerships that could potentially benefit from a new U.K. statute allowing alternative business structures and non-attorney ownership by 2011.
If the operator of a new British website is correct, relatively small law firms in the United Kingdom, too, will be able to take advantage of economies of scale and big-name brand recognition by joining with others to market their services. The website, MyLawyer.com, is playing its cards close to its vest, but expects to help lesser-known law firms market transactional and document-related services, according to Legal Week.
The website is operated by the Epoq information technology company.
