Denver-based Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck has acquired a seven-lawyer intellectual property litigation firm based in Reno, Nevada.

The acquisition of boutique firm Watson Rounds expands Brownstein’s IP group to 30 professionals, making Brownstein’s intellectual property practice one of the largest in the Mountain West, according to a press release. The Denver Post and the Denver Business Journal have coverage.

Three lawyers from the acquired firm, Watson Rounds, will join Brownstein as shareholders. Also making the move are four associates, two paralegals and four staffers from Watson Rounds.

Brownstein began expanding its intellectual property practice in 2013 to meet its clients’ growing needs as the U.S. technology sector boomed, according to the press release.
