Buchanan Ingersoll acquires a 90-attorney Florida firm

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is acquiring a 90-lawyer Florida law firm, increasing its attorney roster in the state and adding four new Florida offices.

Partners of Pittsburgh-based Buchanan Ingersoll and Fowler White Boggs voted Thursday to approve a merger that takes effect Friday, according to a press release. Together, they will have some 530 attorneys, the Pittsburgh Business Times reports.

The two firms will be co-branded in Florida for the next year, then use the Buchanan Ingersoll name exclusively. Fowler White CEO Rhea Law of will chair Buchanan Ingersoll’s offices in Florida.

Buchanan Ingersoll comes to the merger with 15 offices in California, Delaware, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
