Bush Threatens Abortion Vetoes

President Bush says he will veto any bills that support abortion with taxpayer dollars.

One pending appropriations bill bars discussion of abortion in family planning clinics in developing nations. Abortion groups want to remove the ban from the legislation, according to the New York Times.

A spokesman for House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., says she views Bush’s statement, made in a two-page letter, as a broader threat “to veto any pro-choice legislation.”
