Calif. DAs Brace for the Worst After Budget Propositions Fail

California prosecutors fear the governor will borrow from a special half-cent property sales tax that helps fund their operations to make up a budget deficit that didn’t get any help from state voters on Tuesday.

After voters rejected ballot referenda allowing higher taxes and borrowing measures, district attorneys “were bracing for disaster,” according to the Daily Journal (sub. req.).

The article quotes San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, president of the California District Attorneys Association. "All of us are going to have to feel the pain,” she said.

California has the authority to borrow about 8 percent of local tax funding from cities and counties, according to the story. Prosecutors fear a half-cent property sales tax that makes up as much as 40 percent of their budgets will be tapped.

MEANWHILE, California voters brace for the best as idiot state legislators come to realize that they can’t spend what they don’t have AND can’t give themselves pay raises.

Take a look at the county-by-county map. It’s amazing how OVERWHELMING the vote against the initiatives was. All 58 counties voted in tandem, and the most of them voted 80% or more against.

Quite an anti-tax sentiment from the people here. And that’s why the pro-taxation elites are upset. And that’s why the Sacramento Bee and the NY Times are talking $hit about the voters. And that’s why it’s not getting much coverage. Pretty disgusting the media has become.

Now wait until the state tries to cut services.  Californians want bricks without straw.  It’s the most undisciplined disaster in these United States, but the locals still think its some kind of model.

The people would be all for cutting services—especially to illegal aliens which cost the state billions every year.

It’s the lobbying groups and “community activists” who will scream and yell while claiming to speak for the California public. And the media will follow their lead and repeat the lie that Californians want high taxation. Very predictable.

This has to be a dark cloud for those seeking to call Sacramento home.  So where do those aspiring politicians see the state going (aside from to Hell in a nandbasket)?
