California’s Best Best & Krieger Acquires DC Telecom Boutique
Best Best & Krieger is opening a Washington, D.C., office through the acquisition of Miller & Van Eaton, a boutique telecommunications law firm based in the District.
Six lawyers from Miller & Van Eaton will join Best Best & Krieger effective July 1, according to a press release. The D.C. office is the first in the history of BB&K, which has eight California offices.
BB&K has one of California’s largest municipal and public agency law practices, while Miller & Van Eaton has helped more than 250 municipalities with telecommunications issues ranging from cellular tower zoning decisions to cable franchise problems.
The press release quotes BB&K’s managing partner Eric Garner. “We are pleased to be welcoming such a stellar group of attorneys who specialize in an increasingly critical area of law for our clients in California, especially the cities we serve,” Garner said.
Miller & Van Eaton’s website lists nine lawyers. Among those making the move are name partners Nicholas Miller and Joseph Van Eaton, who will be joining BB&K as partners. Two lawyers are joining as associates and two others as of counsel.
