It may not have been that much fun for Mr. T. But jury duty was a blast Monday at Cook County Criminal Court for fans of the 1980s television actor who were also among those called to do their civic duty, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
The first to recognize Mr. T was a daughter of the defendant, who posed with the Chicago native for a photo.
Sporting a signature Mohawk and dressed in camouflage attire, the 56-year-old star of "The A-Team," whose real name is Laurence Tureaud, chatted with fans and signed autographs, the newspaper writes, while waiting to find out if he would be called to serve on what he described as the "J-Team" in a drug case. (He wasn't.)
Fans will also remember him for his role in the Rocky III movie, from which he derived a signature phrase that he used repeatedly, according to the Sun-Times:
"If you're innocent, I'm your best man," he said of his possible jury service. "But if you're guilty, I pity that fool."

I always wondered what the T in Mr. T’s name stood for. My cousin said it was Mr. Tuches.
