ABA Journal staffers have sifted through more than 100 entries – and a lot of sovereign immunity jokes this month. Now it’s your turn to help us crown as king or queen of our monthly cartoon-caption contest.

Vote in the cartoon poll for one of the below captions before March 30:

• “I’m sorry I called you ‘judge,’ Your Majesty. This is my first time in federal court.” —submitted by Joel P. Borowiec of Sierra Vista, Arizona

• “But your honor, ‘drawn and quartered’ is outside the traffic court sentencing guidelines.”—submitted by Margaret A. O’Donnell of Troy, Michigan

• Wendy’s argument wasn’t gaining any traction with the Burger Court.—submitted by Miriam Richter of Wilton Manors, Florida

How to vote: Using our poll, select the caption you think best fits the scene depicted in the cartoon.

Voting period: Votes must be cast by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, March 29.

What’s the prize? Bragging rights. Plus, the winning caption and credit to the caption writer will appear in an upcoming issue of the ABA Journal.
