CBS is developing a comedy called Class Action that is based on the law school experiences of Dr. Phil’s son, Jay McGraw.

The show follows a law student who is looking for an easy experience, but instead finds himself in a group of eclectic law students who have to argue actual cases in court, according to descriptions of the show in Variety and Deadline Hollywood.

Jay McGraw attended SMU Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas Lawyer (sub. req.) reports.

Executive producers are Jay and Phil McGraw; Modern Family writer Dan O’Shannon; and Julia Eisenman, vice president of development for Stage 29 Productions, the McGraws’ production company. CBS is producing the show in association with Stage 29.

O’Shannon will also write for the show, along with Survivor winner John Cochran, who will also be a co-executive producer.
