The new Hot Coffee, which premiered at Sundance in January and on HBO last month, offered a positive look at the plaintiff’s side in the infamous 1994 case in which Stella Liebeck won $3 million from McDonald’s, among other cases.

But a Chamber of Commerce-funded movie set to premiere on the Reelz cable television network Monday is expected to offer a counterpoint. Focusing on well-known former members of the profession such as onetime trial lawyer Richard “Dickie” Scruggs and plaintiff securities bar king Mel Weiss, InJustice will tell the stories of famous tort lawyers who rose to national fame before being convicted of criminal conduct, the Blog of Legal Times reports.

Executive producer Brian Kelly told the legal publication he formed his own view of the court system during litigation with a Maryland tenant who sued him after an eviction attempt.

“What they did successfully was just keep me in the court system,” Kelly said. “I won, but it cost me $80,000.”
