Chicago-Based Arnstein & Lehr Acquires 7-Lawyer Fla. Firm

Following up on a previously announced plan of Florida expansion, Chicago-based Arnstein & Lehr is acquiring a seven-lawyer Coral Gables firm.
All of the attorneys at Fieldstone Shear & Denberg will be joining Arnstein, and Ronald Fieldstone, David Shear and Michael Denberg will be joining as equity partners, according to an Arnstein press release and information e-mailed by a spokesman to the ABA Journal today. The merger will be effective April 1, and most of the Fieldstone firm's lawyers and staff will then shift to Arnstein's office in Miami.
The Fieldstone firm forcuses on complex commercial, corporate, real estate, condominium, domestic and international tax matters. Arnstein, which has 143 lawyers, including the Fieldstone attorneys, is a full-service commercial law firm particularly known for its real estate work. It stresses a cost-conscious approach to representation.
In addition to Illinois and Florida, the 115-year-old Arnstein firm also has a presence in Milwaukee.

Being as they chose an April 1 effective date, they should extend some offers to “incoming associates” as well.
