A London “trainee lawyer” with Clifford Chance may lose his job, the International Business Times reports, after he was filmed saying that he’s a “lad,” who loves “the ladness.”

“What is ‘the ladness’?” asked the reporter, an Oxford University student. The footage was shown on Shark Tales, an online show created by Oxford’s student paper Cherwell and published on its YouTube channel. The piece focused on college students out enjoying themselves, probably after having a few drinks.

“The ladness is just basically f***ing people over for money,” the trainee responded, according to legal news site The Lawyer. At the end of the clip, he had more to say.

“I refuse my consent for this to go on the Internet,” he says, in a seemingly good-natured way. “And I will sue you if you put it on.”

Neither publication said how it was discovered that the interviewee, whose name was not disclosed, works for Clifford Chance. The firm was notified that one of their trainees appeared in the footage, The Lawyer reports.

“The comments made are inappropriate, and they are at odds with our principles and the professional standards we espouse as a firm,” a Clifford Chance spokesman said. “One of our trainee lawyers is the subject of our formal disciplinary procedures, which may result in the termination of the training contract with the firm.”
