The city of Plantation, Florida, failed to prove that a couple’s elaborate Christmas display is a public nuisance, a judge ruled last week.

Judge Marina Garcia-Wood of Broward Circuit Court ruled for Mark and Kathy Hyatt in the suit filed by the city in February 2014, the Sun-Sentinel and Local 10 report.

The decision “almost brought me to my knees,” Mark Hyatt told the Sun-Sentinel. “Obviously, we’ve been waiting for this decision for quite awhile. I think the word would be ‘vindicated.’ ”

Hyatt told Local 10 he didn’t know if he would continue the Christmas display because he is busy with a campaign for election to the Plantation City Council.

The Christmas display included more than 200,000 lights; a live Santa; a pony dressed as a reindeer; a Ferris wheel for stuffed animals; and a movie screen that plays children’s shows.
