A Wisconsin lawyer already suspended for failing to pay bar dues will be suspended for three years because he robbed a Madison credit union of $500 while wearing a Bucky Badger hat and carrying a toy gun.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court approved the suspension for Randi Hubatch, who is currently serving a two-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to armed robbery. The Legal Profession Blog linked to the Nov. 26 opinion.

Hubatch had stipulated to the facts and the suspension.

According to previous coverage, Hubatch said he needed money to help pay off $250,000 in student debt and he couldn’t afford his diabetes medication. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin law school in 2004 and was admitted to practice the same year.
