After an inspection by bedbug-sniffing dogs, the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York shut down for extermination.

College officials shut down North Hall for the treatment, according to the New York Times and the New York Daily News. Students and faculty members had reported rashes as a result of the infestation.

Bedbugs in the city are so pervasive that they were also found in the city health department, the New York Post reports.
