A former administrative staffer who claimed she was fired from Crowell & Moring because of her age has dropped her lawsuit without reaching a settlement.

Mona Saunders, 54, had worked at the law firm for 18 years before she was fired last year. Both sides agreed to dismiss the case with prejudice on Tuesday, the National Law Journal reports.

Saunders had maintained the firm transferred her to a new job in 2006 in a move designed to set her up for failure. Crowell had responded that Saunders was fired for failing to “perform her job in a satisfactory manner,” according to a prior story by The BLT: The Blog of Legal Times.

Crowell managing partner Ellen Dwyer said in a statement that the firm views the decision to drop the case as “a complete vindication of our position.”
