Lawyer Jeffrey Lesk decided to take matters into his own hands when he rushed to a cycling class during his lunch break eight years ago and the instructor didn’t show.

Lesk jumped on a bike in the front of the room and was soon on his way to becoming a certified instructor, the Washington Post reports. But he’s not quitting his day job—as managing partner of the Washington, D.C., office of Nixon Peabody.

Lesk, 56, wears gray spandex as he teaches his cycling class at Energy Fitness Metro Center. But soon after the class he has showered and he’s back in his suit, ready to return to his law firm. Lawyers there have benefited from his fitness mentality. He helped organized a weekly yoga class and an office bike-sharing program. “People are never nervous walking by my office with a gym bag,” he tells the Post.

He is among several instructors who have high-powered day jobs, the story says. Another is 36-year-old Cohen Milstein lawyer Betsy Miller, who teaches trampoline and balance training at Vida Fitness.
