In court in Pennsylvania last year to face an aggravated assault case, Kyle Arnold, 42, conned another defendant’s girlfriend into believing that he was a lawyer and got her to give him $1,300 to “represent” the boyfriend, the Delaware County district attorney’s office says.

Police allegedly were able to trace Arnold, apparently through cellphone records, and determine that he was at the Delco Courthouse on the day in question. However, it was as a defendant, reports the Philadelphia Daily News.

Arnold now faces new charges of theft and receiving stolen property. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond.
