The chief judges of Washington, D.C.’s superior and appeals courts marked Law Day by answering questions on Twitter for an hour.

The judges fielded questions on topics ranging from jury duty to legal careers, according to The BLT: The Blog of Legal Times. The questions were submitted using the hashtag #AskTheCJs.

Chief Judge Lee Satterfield of the D.C. Superior Court and Chief Judge Eric Washington of the D.C. Court of Appeals collaborated on the answers. They stayed within the 140-character limit with “creative abbreviating,” according to the story.

The chief judges offered this advice to an aspiring lawyer: “It’s both what you know - the law - & who you know, so make sure you study, & attend local bar activities to meet accomplished attys.”
