Dechert is laying off 19 lawyers, both associates and of counsel, across the firm’s 11 U.S. offices.
The firm announced the cuts today. Several publications had the news, including the Am Law Daily, The BLT: The Blog of Legal Times, and Above the Law.
A spokesman told the Am Law Daily that the cuts were “primarily due to a reduction in demand that has affected most, if not all of the legal industry."
Late last year Dechert laid off 72 staff members, representing 12.5 percent of the firm’s administrative staff.

Dude, Obama just has his inauguration at the end of January. How much change do you expect to happen in 3 ½ weeks. You need to be upset with Bush, for the state of this economy!
