A Pennsylvania man has been arrested on charges he spray painted a death threat against a judge on the county courthouse.

Paul Sirmons of North Huntingdon was charged with vandalism, terroristic threats and criminal mischief, according to stories in the Associated Press, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Sirmons told police he spray painted the threat because Judge Jeffrey Manning disrespected him when he confronted the judge during an encounter at Macy’s, police say. Sirmons said Manning told him to get out of his face when Sirmons questioned his probation sentence in a 1994 assault case.

A witness had identified Sirmons as the man captured on a surveillance video painting the words “judge” and “die” on the Allegheny County courthouse.
