A federal judge in Montana who self-reported himself to the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for a potential legal ethics review after admittedly sending a racist email related to President Barack Obama could be looking at more trouble.

Two Democratic lawmakers on the House Judiciary Committee today called for a hearing on the email forwarded by U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull, saying in a letter that “at a minimum, forwarding this email illustrates poor judgment and of conduct that was unbecoming of a federal judge,” the Associated Press reports.

There was no immediate response from the committee’s chairman, Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, to the letter from Reps. John Conyers of Michigan and Steve Cohen of Tennessee.
