A personal injury law firm in Philadelphia has obtained an injunction temporarily barring a departing associate from practicing law at other law firms.

Lawyer Robert Englert Jr. won’t be able to practice law until September under an injunction issued Monday by Judge Albert Sheppard Jr., the Legal Intelligencer reports. Kline & Specter had sought the injunction on the ground that Englert had failed to give 60 days’ notice as required by his employment contract.

Englert told the Intelligencer in an email that he is discussing “appellate options” with his lawyer. He is also considering “independent claims arising from this matter.” He told the publication he couldn’t comment further after a judge sealed court filings referencing an ethics complaint he filed regarding the law firm.
