Deputy DA Who Prosecuted Paris Hilton Drug Case Is Arrested on Crack Cocaine Charge
The Las Vegas chief deputy district attorney who prosecuted Paris Hilton for cocaine possession has been arrested and accused of buying crack from a man riding in his BMW.
David Schubert was arrested Saturday evening after an officer saw what he thought was a drug transaction and stopped Schubert’s vehicle, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. The prosecutor was charged with possession of cocaine.
As the chief deputy, Schubert had been assigned to several high-profile drug cases, including the prosecutions of Hilton and singer Bruno Mars, according to the Review-Journal, the Las Vegas Sun, KTNV.com and 8NewsNow.com.
District Attorney David Roger told the Review-Journal that Schubert has been suspended and an investigation has been launched into whether he compromised any drug cases.
