Deputy Public Defender Sues Tucson, Ariz., Over Claimed Harassment by Municipal Judge
A deputy public defender has filed a federal lawsuit against the city of Tucson, Ariz., alleging that she was sexually harassed by a municipal judge.
Although the claimed harasser isn’t named as a defendant by Sharolynn Griffiths, the Arizona Daily Star says he is a former municipal judge who resigned from the bench last year after a Pima County Superior Court finding that Griffiths had been subjected to unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature.
Griffiths is seeking a plan for training city employees on harassment and implementing a procedure for dealing with such issues. She also asks for unspecified compensatory damages and attorney fees.
The city attorney says Tucson has a policy of not commenting on pending litigation.
