One of the 10 biggest law firms in California’s state capital plans to split into three groups by June 1, reports the Sacramento Business Journal.

“It’s a reflection of the times, including a tendency of clients across the country to want more focused groups of lawyers,” says partner Jack Diepenbrock. “It’s an amicable arrangement and we’ll continue to work together on matters presently on hand.”

He and firm president Eileen Diepenbrock will lead one 10-attorney group. Managing partner Mark Harrison will form a new firm with another four lawyers. Jeffrey Dorso will head another new firm.

The situation is still developing, the article notes.
