Disbarred lawyer, a onetime radio host, takes blind plea in $2.3M client fraud case
A now-disbarred suburban Chicago estate and probate lawyer, who is also known for having hosted a radio program and offering financial advice, has taken a blind plea in a $2.3 million client fraud case.
Kathleen Niew, 58, will be sentenced at a later date after pleading guilty Wednesday in federal court in Chicago to a 10-count indictment that charged her with converting a couple’s life savings and spending the money on unauthorized investments, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The article doesn’t include any comment from Niew or her legal counsel.
She still faces another federal case in South Carolina.
