A disbarred personal injury lawyer from Florida has been accused of participating in a scheme to sell stolen guns once owned by the family of executed Iraqi president Saddam Hussein.

Former Miami-area lawyer David Phillip Ryan, 48, was accused of conspiracy to transport stolen firearms, conspiracy to sell stolen property and unlawfully mailing firearms, report the Miami Herald and NJ.com. Three others were also charged in the alleged conspiracy.

Two of the guns had the initials “Q.S,” believed to indicate they belonged to Qusay Saddam Hussein al-Tikriti, the second son of Saddam Hussein.

Ryan’s lawyer, Edward O’Donnell IV of Miami, told the Miami Herald that his client believed the guns were obtained legally. Ryan was disbarred based on allegations he misused trust money, the Miami Herald says.
