The ABA House of Delegates today agreed to launch a new discounted dues pricing program for public sector lawyers and judges who join in groups of five or more.

The resolution states that lawyers and judges in the military, in legal services or working for nonprofit entities can join the ABA for $95 per year—a significant discount on dues. The new membership plan begins in the 2014-2015 membership year.

At least half of those in the groups of five or more must be new members. Further, each must be involved in one of the ABA’s sections, divisions or forums throughout their discounted membership.

In 2006, the House of Delegates authorized trying new dues pricing plans, and this new dues pricing plan reflects the ABA’s efforts to recruit and retain members in these sectors.
