Tampa, Fla., divorce lawyer Arnie Levine offers one of his secrets to a long-lasting marriage: ballroom dancing.

Levine is “a divorce court terror in a tasteful charcoal suit,” the Tampa Bay Times reports, but he has been married 55 years to his wife, Gail. The couple goes ballroom dancing on Wednesday nights.

“You have an opportunity to hold your wife in your hands, talk sweet nothings, and go out to dinner,” Arnie Levine tells the newspaper.

Gail Levine (it was both her maiden and married name) met Arnie Levine at the University of Miami, went on a date with him and vowed never to go out with him again. They married two months later.

Arnie Levine says it’s important for couples to have fun together. A bad day should not be taken home to the spouse. “Think about how you want to be treated and treat the other person that way,” he says. “It works. When you’re into yourself, that’s when you get into trouble.”

He also attributes his successful marriage to the fact that his wife is “able to put up with me.”
