It isn't easy for out-of-state lawyers to get admitted to practice, even temporarily, in Delaware.
So, tired of hiring local counsel on a regular basis, megafirm DLA Piper is opening a Wilmington office with a 10-lawyer team from Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge, reports the Am Law Daily, relying on information from the National Law Journal.
"We've had to regularly hire local counsel because of the barriers that exist in Delaware for lawyers practicing outside of the state," global chairman Francis Burch Jr.
A law firm press release gives more details about the five partners and five associates who will staff the new Wilmington office.
