Last year, the award-winning sci-fi flick Gravity was premiered by Warner Bros. at the Toronto International Film Festival.

This year it’s the studio’s new film The Judge that will not only be introduced to audiences there but headline the festival when it opens on Sept. 4, Variety reports.

The movie, which opens in the U.S. on Oct. 10, stars Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall among a cast of well-known actors and was filmed in Massachusetts. The plot focuses on a big-city lawyer (Downey) who goes home to Indiana to help his father (Duvall), who serves as the town judge, when the jurist is suspected of murder.

“David Dobkin has delivered a moving, textured story about family, duty and the way we remember our past,” ” said film fest CEO Piers Handling. “We couldn’t have asked for a better start to this year’s event.”
