Drunken Burglar Calls 911 for Help, Gets Arrested
A Delaware man who broke into a house and got so drunk he couldn’t get back out had to call 911 for help.
John Finch, 44, broke into the unoccupied Castle County home through a rear window and stayed there for several days, drinking three bottles of the homeowner’s gin and two bottles of whiskey, according to the Associated Press.
When Finch tried to leave through the same broken window he came in, police said, he was too drunk to climb out. He was arrested after calling 911 for help.
Finch’s predicament was partly his fault, police said. He had broken into the same house last April, after which the homeowner changed the locks, which now require a key to get out as well as in.
