Edwards Angell to Merge with Wildman Harrold; New Firm Will Have 650 Lawyers
Boston-based Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge is merging with Chicago law firm Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon.
The new firm will be called Edwards Wildman Palmer, according to a press release. It will have 13 offices and 650 lawyers. The merger takes place on Oct. 1.
Wildman Harrold had 224 attorneys in 2004, but it has lost lawyers to several other law firms in recent months, ABAJournal.com reported when merger talks were announced last month. The Edwards firm has about 500 lawyers.
Robert Shuftan, the managing partner of Wildman Harrold, said in a statement that the firms have “shared values, complementary practice areas, and the economic compatibility necessary to make this merger successful.” He will be deputy managing partner of the new firm.
Edwards Angell’s managing partner, Walter Reed, will continue in his role.
