When Giorgio Galante e-mailed Steve Jobs and his pal Randall Stephenson, AT&T’s CEO, last year, Jobs responded. However, after two more recent e-mails to Stephenson, it was AT&T’s executive response team that replied to Galante—with legal threats.

Galante e-mailed the CEO twice in two weeks: first to request a bump in his iPhone eligibility date, and later to announce his decision to switch carriers due to his unhappiness with AT&T’s data rates, according to AOL News’ Engadget blog.

Perhaps the latter made Stephenson unhappy, as Galante’s last e-mail prompted the phone call which warned that further e-mails would be met with a cease-and-desist letter.

AT&T did ultimately apologize to Galante, and added that the rep who made the call was “not having the best of days,” Engadget later reported.
