Suspended Las Vegas Judge Elizabeth Halverson, currently battling disciplinary charges, won’t be returning to the bench.

But it wasn’t disciplinary officials who ousted her. Halverson received just 10 percent of the vote in a three-way primary yesterday, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Halverson is accused of falling asleep during trials, creating a hostile work environment for her staff and having improper conversations with jurors. A Review-Journal editorial calls her the “poster child for scandal.”

Another Las Vegas judge facing sexual misconduct allegations, Nicholas Del Vecchio, also lost an election race. He has been accused of sexually harassing an employee he first sexually abused when she was about 14 years old, when he was married to her mother. He has “strongly denied” the allegations.

Halverson had sought a temporary restraining order to halt ongoing disciplinary proceedings, but was unsuccessful. Hearings in her case begin again on Thursday, reports KXNT.com.
