A teen spending nights in a halfway house for breaking into three cars and a home decided he’d had enough of confinement.

On St. Patrick’s Day, Joseph Luebke went on the lam and told the world about it on his Facebook page, according to Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass. Luebke was apprehended hours later. Was he done in by his penchant for self-expression? Authorities wouldn’t say.

Apparently, Luebke decided to run because he feared he’d be sent from the halfway house to prison after being fired from his daytime telemarketing job, investigators told Kass.

Luebke first posted the news of his escape just 18 minutes later, according to the story. “On da run,” he wrote. As worried friends responded, Luebke tried to reassure them.

“its all good imma be fine jusfine don’t trip!” he wrote. “im jus gettin some fresh air before i go bakk to the clinker lol”

For those unschooled in Facebook speak, Kass offered a translation, written by his assistant. “My dear friends, please don’t worry. I am enjoying the outdoors, breathing deeply of the winds of freedom. Perhaps I may be compelled to involuntarily return to prison, but in the meantime I am laughing out loud.”

Now Luebke is back in custody, this time in a Joliet prison.
