A former Greenberg Traurig associate who pleaded guilty to stealing about $500,000 from the law firm has been sentenced to 15 months in prison.

The disbarred lawyer, Michael Shaw, 37, will also have to perform 100 hours of community service, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Shaw submitted phony invoices to his firm and deposited the checks into his own account. About $90,000 in invoices were submitted in the name of an investigator at the firm for work Shaw performed by himself, according to a press release (PDF). About $425,000 in invoices were submitted in the name of a fictitious vendor for title examinations that Shaw did himself.
