Ex-Lawyer Faces Felony Charges for Allegedly Failing to Complete Promised Legal Work
A former West Virginia lawyer was arraigned Monday on five felony charges of obtaining money by false pretenses, as well as forgery and uttering of a public record.
Kenneth J. Ford, 37, is accused in the Berkeley County Circuit Court case of accepting money from multiple clients to perform legal work that was not completed, reports the Martinsburg Journal.
He is also accused of forging a family court order.
Ford, who has pleaded not guilty, is free on bond.
His law license was annulled earlier this year by the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.
