Ex-Ogletree VP said to be working at Littler, 6 other Ogletree partners to follow
Earlier this month, Reuters published an article announcing that a former vice president had resigned from Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart and planned to take a group of lawyers from the national labor and employment boutique to another law firm.
Now it appears that Don Prophete is actually in the process of doing so.
He started work Monday at the Kansas City office of Littler Mendelson, Reuters reported in an article that relies on information from an unidentified source, and six Ogletree partners will soon join him at his new firm.
They reportedly include Nikki Hiniger Howell, who serves as managing partner of Ogletree’s Kansas City office, as well as partners from the firm’s Boston, Denver, Kansas City, New York and St. Louis offices. None was available to comment, Reuters says, and the chairman of Littler did not respond to multiple messages seeking comment..
Kim Ebert, who serves as managing partner of Ogletree, provided the news agency with a written statement. It expressed his disappointment “to learn of these departures as they are talented lawyers; however, this in no way impacts our commitment to our clients and our growth model—as demonstrated by our opening of a new office in Richmond, Virginia last week (and San Diego earlier this year).”
