Ex-Ohio AG Blames 'Arrogance' and 'Hubris' for His Downfall in Testimony Before Disciplinary Board
A former Ohio attorney general who resigned in 2008 in the midst of a sexual harassment scandal blamed his own “arrogance” and “hubris” yesterday in testimony before a disciplinary panel.
“I thought that I was something special,” Marc Dann, 49, told the Board of Commissioners on Grievances & Discipline. The Cuyahoga County Courthouse hearing is related to efforts to reach a settlement on agreed discipline in the attorney ethics case, reports the Columbus Dispatch.
Dann said he was disappointed in himself and teared up as he described the effect that his behavior had on his family. His wife divorced him last year and he said his children have had problems, but he is trying to earn their respect by demonstrating a positive response to adversity.
