A former partner at McDermott Will & Emery in Miami has been sentenced to 13 months in federal prison for failing to file multiple tax returns.

Steven Siff, 56, was taken into custody immediately after his sentencing in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday, reports the Sun-Sentinel.

He admitted he had stopped filing by 2000, and failed to report more than $8.2 million in profits he received from his law firm partnership between 2001 and 2011. He pleaded guilty earlier in 2014 to three misdemeanor charges. Siff’s lawyer, Bruce Udolf, described Siff as a good man who was overwhelmed by depression due to a tough divorce.
