Slaying of US Ambassador in Libya Part of 'Terrorist Attack,' Accountability Review Board Appointed
The slaying of the U.S. ambassador to Libya, along with three others, at the consulate in Benghazi earlier this month, was part of a “terrorist attack,” a White House press secretary told reporters Thursday.
Also today, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton announced the appointment of an Accountability Review Board to look into the attack, the New York Times reports.
It will be led by Thomas R. Pickering, a former under secretary of state. A website for the Council on Foreign Relations details his extensive diplomatic background.
